The biennial conference of Business Educators Australasia
Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd October, 2020
Adelaide, South Australia
The BEA Conference attracts approximately 150 business educators from across the country. BETASA and ETSSA, in conjunction with BEA, are hosting the biennial BEA National Conference in Adelaide, October 1-2, 2020. Our broad theme for this conference is “Food and Futures”. We will provide our teachers with relevant examples and learning applications in this theme area. The conference will be attended by teachers from across Australia, therefore sessions will address curriculum needs nationally. We are now seeking expressions of interest for papers and workshops.
Accounting, Business, Economics, Legal/Civics & Citizenship:
Presentations addressing as many common themes for each of the 4 strands across all Australian state curriculums will be considered
Year Levels 7 to 10:
Presentations relating to Economics & Business including Financial Literacy from the National Curriculum (ACARA)
Of interest to all:
Cross curriculum in nature and applicable to all business educators – for example, providing effective feedback to students and embedding the use of digital learning technologies.
We also hope to include pedagogical strategies and sessions on 21st century learning and work skills.
BEA 2020 invites educators to present at the conference. Preference will be given to presentations within the strands that have a focus on one or more of the following:
using digital technologies with students
applying high impact teaching strategies to enhance learning and teaching
supporting students from culturally diverse backgrounds
supporting students with English as an additional language
assessment for learning
Presenters are entitled to 20% discount on registration fees. No fees, CRT, travel, accommodation or similar will be provided by BEA 2020. Sessions will be approximately 50 minutes in length, subject to agreement.
